Staffordshire pottery group commemorating Grace Darling and her father's heroic rescue of nine men from the wreck of the "FORFARSHIRE" in 1848. Her father was the lighthouse-keeper on Longstone Island, Northumberland where the family lived. Grace became a national heroine and was a celebrated personality. She died from consumption several years later.
