These decorative articulated fish are so called after the recovery of six from a box salvaged from the torpedoed Steamship MEDINA in 1917.  The box belonged to Lord Carmichael, Grand Commander of the Indian Empire and was marked by the initials GCIE.

Unmarked silver with red cabochon eyes.

Early twentieth century.

Length. 145 mm. (5 3/4 inches).
