H.M.S. ENDEAVOUR  was the vessel of Lt. James Cook, later Captain Cook, when he found the east coast of Australia. The little vessel was the collier, EARL OF PEMBROKE , before being commisioned into the Royal Navy.

The tooth is from the whale fishery that exisited in Western Australia. This was the Cheynes Beach Whaling Company and it closed in 1978. Their processing plant was in King George Sound, close to the small provincial town of Albany.

The tooth is a well engraved portrait of the little bark in full sail. Signed on the back, Jasper, Albany,1994.
