The Royal Crown Derby company can be traced back as far as 1750, when the original factory was opened on Nottingham Road. Queen Victoria granted permission to add "Royal" to the company name in 1890. The name is synonymous with the highest quality English Bone China, making its produce world renowned and well-loved. The company produced a collection of animal paperweights characterised by a contemporary style combined with the appeal of bright Imari colours. Each is hand-decorated and finished with hand-applied gold and is absolutely unique.
