Tinted lithograph of the Venetian lagoon with gondolas and other craft. Cover only. W. Langton Williams (1832-1896, wrote music for popular singers from the 1850's through to the mid 1890's. Music on the Sea was written to be sung by Miss Poole and Miss Lascelles, popular singers of the mid-nineteenth century.

John Brandard (1812-1863) illustrated many sheet music covers. He was a skilled lithographer and invariably printed by the London firm of M & N Hanhart.
