The printed booklet from the Bulletin of the Post-Graduate Committee in Medicine, University of Sydney, Vol. 17, No. 2, May, 1961. Keith Bowden, M.B., M.S., became interested in early Gippsland history and became an expert on George Bass, the Surgeon-Sailor who discovered Bass Strait and the Gippsland coast. In esence it is the Annual Post-Graduate Oration to the Post-Graduate Committee in Medicine, University of  Sydney, delivered in the Great Hall, May 11, 1961.
The booklet sumarises Bass's life with a little information on his voyages with additional maps and illustrations.
