An allegorical picture of Asia depicted as a simply dressed woman wearing a crown of flowers. She is looking right towards a mounted European soldier who perhaps is an allegory of the conquests made in Asia by Alexander the Great.

From the suite of engravings by Salvador Carmona known as The Four Parts of the World, taken in turn from the paintings by Luca Giordano (1634-1705). The prints were dedicated to the Spanish Prince Charles who became King Charles IV.

Copperplate engraving. Later hand-colour.
