Published in Joseph Lycett's Views in Australia, the map claimed "from the best authorities and from the most recent surveys". Certainly well-founded claims as there was a dearth of maps available at this time of the interior of the island. It is probable that the information that is contained in the map was assembled and engraved by James Tyrer, a skilled map engraver who served his apprenticeship under Benjamin Baker, the master engraver of the British Ordnance Survey from 1804.

A rare map published and only available in Views in Australia.
